Course:	Fiqh (practical laws of Islam)

Time:	Tuesdays @ 8:10 PM - 8:50 PM

Description:	This course covers the most common practical laws of Islam that all Muslims are required to know and practice. The course is suitable for new Muslims as well as those who would like to review their practice of the Islamic shar'iah. Practical topics such as taharat, najasat, ghusl, salat (method, jamaat, doubts in salaat), khums, halal and haram in food and drinks, etc. will be covered. Participants will gain confidence in their practice of the Islamic laws as well as learn the skills of how to find answers to day-to-day issues in Islamic law on their own (using the internet, risala, etc).

Instructor:	Br. Haider Jaffer is a regular speaker at Islamic centres around Toronto and teaches the higher classes at the West Madrasah. He has served the Shi'ah Muslim community in Brampton for the last 12 years (in addition to serving in the east, Montreal, and Mombasa) and takes a special interest in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and creating awareness of the Islamic shar'iah.
