Course:	Irfan (the science of 'knowing' Allah (s.w.t))

Time:	I01 -- Tuesdays @ 7:20 PM - 8:00 PM I02 -- Fridays @ 7:20 PM - 8:00 PM

Description:	Irfan or the science of 'knowing' Allah has been described as the ultimate goal of all forms of knowledge-seeking. But what does it mean to know Allah and why is this knowledge so important? This course starts with an introduction to irfan and the history of its most prominent figures and thereafter introduces steps to understanding and practicing the science itself. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of what irfan is all about as well as lots of further references to allow them to continue studying and practicing irfan on their own.

Instructor:	Br. Khalil Jaffer is a regular speaker at the Masumeen Islamic Centre and is currently involved in reviewing the West Madrasah syllabus and notes. He has a special interest in Irfan (Islamic Gnosis) and has conducted a similar course in Vancouver (BC) in 2003.
