Summer Classes 2004 - Course Details

Course: Introduction to Nahjul Balagha
 
Time: Fridays @ 8:10 PM - 8:50 PM
 
Description: This course begins with an overview of various sermons delivered by Imam Ali [a.s.] at various occasions. Political background, historical context and a study of various topics and themes discussed in these sermons will be elaborated. A selection of Imam Ali [a.s.]'s Sermons, Letters and Aphorisms will be examined. Participants will gain an appreciation of the moral, spiritual, intellectual and political significance of Imam Ali [a.s.]'s speech and writings.
 
Instructor: Prof. Hyder Khoja is a professional engineer with 24 years of teaching experience. He is a professor at the University of Guelph-Humber in the wireless department, specializing in Broadband Fiber Optics and Broadband Wireless Protocols. He takes an active interest in Islamic sciences and is a frequent speaker at the Masumeen Islamic Centre as well as other Shi'ah centres in the GTA.
